Pink Shirt Day. One shirt, a thousand stories.
What is Pink Shirt Day?
Every year on February 25th, we wear pink to honour and respect those who have been bullied. But it’s more than just bullying; it’s the effects of what happens or can happen due to bullying… Many people have either experienced it personally or know someone who has been through this or is currently experiencing it.
So together, in solidarity, we take a stand against it.
What can I do?
If you have anything pink you can wear, start with that. We want others to know why people wear pink on this day and question why it matters. You can also offer warmth, kindness, respect, and inclusiveness to someone who might need it more than you know.
We all play a part in being human and treating others the way we want to be treated. It’s our basic human right. So, let’s just simply be nice to others, not just on one day, but every day.
Pink Shirt Day reminds us that kindness matters. That no one should face bullying alone.
If you or someone you know is struggling with bullying, depression, or thoughts of suicide, support is available.
