Indigenous Peoples can access many City of Edmonton parks and museums for free—just by saying who they are.

This is called self-declaration, and no status card or ID is needed. It’s a step toward reconciliation and recognizes that Indigenous identity doesn’t need to be proven with paperwork.

Below are the attractions you can access today with your self-declaration:

  • Royal Alberta Museum
  • Fort Edmonton Park
  • Edmonton Valley Zoo
  • Muttart Conservatory

For any other questions on this, you can call the City of Edmonton at:

311 or visit their website here City of Edmonton

You can also call any of the attractions listed for self-declaration to confirm before attending.
