3 Minutes - Article

Wildfire season in Alberta runs from March 1 to October 31, and dry conditions can make fires start and spread quickly. If you’re living on your own, working outdoors, or heading out to hike or camp, being prepared is key.

Stay informed

If There's a Wildfire:

  • Leave right away if an evacuation is ordered
  • Have a go-bag ready (see kit list below)
  • Plan multiple evacuation routes in advance
  • Limit outdoor activities in heavy smoke and wear a mask if needed
