Winter can be tough sometimes.
The days are shorter, darker, and it’s cold! You probably don’t feel like doing much. It’s totally normal to feel:
- Low on energy
- Unmotivated
- Irritable or gloomy
A lot of people experience what’s called the winter blues, and you’re not alone in it. It’s easy to get stuck in a cycle of feeling down but remember—these feelings are temporary.
Try these things to lift your mood:
- get outside whenever you can
- Stay active wherever you are. Walk some laps around the house, office, or outside! (this releases feel-good endorphins)
- Always talk to someone you trust if you're feeling a bit more down than usual
- Eat something *(relatively)* healthy and take vitamin D
- Stay hydrated and avoid sugars and alcohol (yes, we know you hear this one a lot)
- Stay connected (either on your phone, or visiting with people you love)
- Avoid over-sleeping
- Keep busy
Hang in there! Winter won’t last forever. Take care of yourself, and remember that brighter, sunnier days are just around the corner! You’ve got everything you need to get through it.
