If you live in Edmonton or Calgary, there is a new app called Too Good to Go! It is a great way to get cheap, restaurant quality food into your belly and help the environment.
Surprise Bags of Food!
Restaurants, cafes, and stores list food items on the App that can’t be sold before the end of the day. Instead of the food going to waste, you can use the App to reserve a surprise bag of food at 1/3 the price!
Check the pickup time window and be there on time to pick it up. Stores don’t know what will be left over at the end of the day so what’s in the bag is always a mystery!
Fight Climate Change
The App says that 40% of all food is wasted. Their mission is to make sure that food produced is food consumed. In Canada, in just under a year since launching the app, over 400,000 meals have been saved. This keeps food out of the landfills, which is a key contributor to fighting climate change.
